Snorkeling in Los Cabos

Snorkeling is one of the nicest things to do in Los Cabos. The Sea of Cortes is very rich in marine life.
Jacques-Yves Cousteau spend many years in this area capturing the Sea of Cortes secrets, and call it "The aquarium of the world".

Where to snorkel in Los Cabos

The best areas to snorkel in Los Cabos are Santa María Bay and Chileno Bay, they are located in between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.
If you have a car you can access these public beaches, just 15 minutes driving from your hotel, and get in the reef from the shore. Bring your own equipment, umbrella and drinks, since there are no stores to rent it and very few public palapas.
Chileno and Santa Maria have public free parking and restrooms area.

If is your first time in Los Cabos, we recommend you to take a snorkeling cruise, not only you will have everything there, food, drinks, equipment, etc. Those tours also will take you to see the famous Arch to take the mandatory picture to prove that you have been here.

If you are coming to Los Cabos for at least one week during Spring or Summer and already seeing the Arch, go for Cabo Pulmo or take the Sea of Cortes Adventure to Espiritu Santo Islad.
These tours aren't cheap and you will spent the whole day, but believe me, you won't reject, those places are the best.

As other tours, you can rent a car and drive to Cabo Pulmo, it’s about 90 minutes driving North from San Jose del Cabo, you will have paved road till La Rivera, and then it’s about 10 miles of dirt and bumpy road.

To Spiritual Santo Island, you will need to drive to La Paz, and take a panga boat in El Tecolote Beach, that will take you around the Island, make sure you get there before 9:00 am
